Progress Update 7: Editing, Design and ETA
about 3 years ago – Sat, Apr 03, 2021 at 09:55:18 PM

Greetings fellow adventurers!

During May we dived into the world of editing for the first time and with the efforts of the talented Hannah Rose we're going through the first stage of this process - Developmental Editing. During this stage we're working to make sure there are no plot holes or anything missed out during the initial draft. What is to follow in the next weeks is a back and forth between us where we iron all of it out.

Once Developmental Editing is done, Copy Editing will begin, where Hannah will dive in and edit everything on the sentence and paragraph level, making it read the best it can.

With the current timeline we're looking to have editing finished by the end of May which is when our layout and page designer Snezha will take the finished text, maps and artworks and put together the final PDF and version for print. The PDF will be sent out as soon as it's done, and as soon as we have the version for print we'll be heading to the printing company.

If everything goes according to plan, and manufacturing isn't stopped by COVID in any way we're aiming for the following dates:

Editing - Done mid/end May

Design - Done mid/end July

PDF Sent out - Early August

Physical Sent out - Early September

If we're lucky things might even take quicker than anticipated, but throughout this adventure we've learned to not underestimate the work that goes behind each step of the process.

In the meantime we will be keeping you updated! Thank you so much for all the support and understanding you've showed during this project, you're honestly amazing!

With all of our love, the Yellow Madhouse team!

Progress Update 6: May the Editing Begin!
about 3 years ago – Tue, Mar 02, 2021 at 04:35:12 PM

Greetings fellow adventurers!

In bulgarian folklore, the first of March is the day of Baba Marta. She brings with her the end of winter and the beginning of spring. In our case, she brings the end of the writing process and the beginning of the editing stage of The Devil's Bridge.

This is an exciting, yet unknown territory for us as this is our first project of this size and we cannot wait to begin our work with the talented Hannah Rose (also known for her work on Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus, Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, Mythic Odysseys of Theros to mention a few) to transform the adventure into its FINAL AND OPTIMAL FORM READY TO TAKE OVER... apologies... the excitement took over for a second.

Over the following 2 months we'll be concentrating on working with Hannah, firstly going through developmental editing (making sure that all parts within the adventure work together with no plot holes and make perfect sense) and then copy editing (making sure that every paragraph and sentence is worded in the best way possible).

We'll keep you updated during this time and hope you are as excited as we are about these next steps.

We hope that all of you are well and healthy!

All of our love,

The Yellow Madhouse team!

Greetings fellow adventurers!

March is just round the corner which means that soon the adventure will be off for editing and one step closer to completion!

On our side, we're finalising everything and are almost ready for handover. The last two weeks of February we'll use for double, triple and quadruple checking that everything is air tight and going over all the small details.

We hope that everyone is well and healthy!

Love,

the Yellow Madhouse team.

Progress Update 4

Greetings fellow Adventurers!

Over the last month we’ve been hard at work on getting everything prepared for the editing process to go as smoothly as possible this coming March. We’ve been doing a lot of testing and refining on our encounters while polishing the story and making sure that everything is ready to go! We’re also using the extra time to develop additional pieces of content enriching the adventure.

We’ve also started work with a new map-maker with a unique style! We fell in love with their eye for detail and beautiful art and can’t wait to show you a snippet for the kind of maps you should expect in The Devil’s Bridge!

We’re fully using the time we have before editing to our advantage and we’re so excited for March to come so we can start finalising the adventure for you!

We’ll update you again on the 15th of February with any news.

Thank you for continuously adding awesomeness to our party!

Important update 2
over 3 years ago – Sat, Jan 02, 2021 at 12:02:54 PM

Greetings fellow adventurers,

Happy new year! We wish you all health, love and joyful moments and many Nat20s!

We’ve got some great news to start the year. We’re so excited to announce that a new adventurer has joined the party, and now we officially have an editor!

We’re so happy to be working with Hannah Rose who has edited titles such as “Baldur’s Gate Descent into Avernus”, “Mythic Odysseys of Theros” and “Explorer's Guide to Wildemount”.

After discussing things we managed to create a new estimate timeline that we’re aiming for:

March - editing starts

May - page design starts

June - digital release + manufacturing starts

July/August - physical delivery

We’re so grateful to all of you for supporting us through this difficult period and making this possible, because without you we would have never had the opportunity to work with Hannah! We’re confident that with her expertise, we will create an adventure worthy of being in your collection.

Here’s to a successful 2021

We love you,

The Yellow Madhouse team
